Worship
constitutes the central element of life at Tates Creek Presbyterian Church.
Services include elements of meditation, praise, confession, instruction,
exhortation, intercessory prayer, thanksgiving and adoration.
We believe with the
Westminster
Confession of Faith that acceptable true worship of God is limited by
His own revealed will as prescribed in the Scriptures.
We also believe that God’s Word emphasizes a heart felt attitude which
is expressed in joyous reverence, sincerity and the fruit of the Spirit,
especially love for God and for people.
Music The musical styles used come from a variety of periods,
with emphasis on traditional hymns and works.
TCPC emphasizes timeless music and worship forms to reflect the
transcendent nature of true worship. All
music in our services is live, demonstrating our commitment to offer God the
very best in all areas of worship. We
strive to honor God with dignified, worshipful music and services that will
inspire the congregation to praise and adore our heavenly Father. We currently have three children's choirs, a youth ensemble, and an adult choir. Congregational participation is strongly encouraged. Various instrumental and vocal ensembles augment the choral program, including a flute choir, string ensemble, and two handbell choirs. In October, 2005, the church installed a 32-rank Moeller pipe organ in the new sanctuary. Concert organist, Joyce Jones, played the dedication recital on October 30.
