Christian Growth - Julia Meador, Chair

It's Time to Sign up For Fall Bible Studies!
We have several options for you this fall:

The Wednesday
morning group
meets in the Youth Room at 9:00 for coffee and teaching
time, then breaks up into small groups for the second hour, ending at
11:00.  This fall's study is the Psalms workbook by our favorite
author, Kathleen Nielson.  Our teachers will be Lenore Breeden, Esther
Ratajeski, Mark Randle, and Preston Hicks.  It will begin on September
14
, and you will need to have the first lesson completed before then.

Also on Wednesday, we are continuing to offer the course, Gospel Transformation, from
World Harvest Mission, which will be led this year by Jan Skinker.
This group will meet in the Parlor from 11:45 to 2:00.  This will also
begin on September 14, and you will need to have the first lesson
completed.

We provide free babysitting for both Wednesday classes.

Another group will study Gospel Transformation on
Sunday evenings at 7:30.  It will be led by Abby Cunningham and Sherry
Simmons, and will meet in Abby's home.  This group is limited to single
women.

We
are also offering a class to meet on Tuesday evenings at 7:00 in the
Youth Room.  We hope to be able to announce the book to be studied at
the Kickoff on Sunday, the 21st, but encourage you to make a
"non-committal" sign up so we can gauge the interest for an evening
class.

At the Fiesta Kickoff, we will have study books you can peruse and purchase.

Prayer Chains and Kneemail

We have two telephone prayer chains and a “kneemail”,
for those who prefer and who check their email almost daily.  To sign up for either one, or to list a
prayer request, contact Katherine Lyon at 269-4212, or krl40502@aol.com, or Janet Whitley at
276-3226, or jjwhitley@insightbb.com

The one concern of the devil is to keep the saints from prayer. He
fears nothing from prayerless studies, prayerless work, prayerless
religion. He laughs at our toil, mocks at our wisdom, but trembles when
we pray.
