Partnership with Food for the Hungry

                In April of 2009, the session of TCPC approved a new mission initiative for our church in this community in Nicaragua.  The outreach is in partnership with Food for the Hungry, an international relief and development organization operating in over twenty six countries. Our church has committed to encourage and pray for both the staff of FH in Nicaragua, the children and families there and the church as part of the C2C (community to community) relationship.  Food for the Hungry seeks to walk with churches, leaders and families in overcoming all forms of human poverty by living in healthy relationship with God and His creation.  Over the next several years, we will be involved by praying for the community, sending short term missions teams annually, keeping abreast of the growth and progress of the community towards the above stated goals.  At the same time, those in the community will be praying for our church as well. 

                One of the ways that Food for the Hungry seeks to accomplish its goals is by child sponsorship.  This allows families here in our own community to choose a child in Bayardo Arce to correspond with, pray for and encourage.  If anyone in the sponsoring family were to travel on a short term trip with the church to Bayardo, they would have the precious opportunity to meet the child and his/her family.   In the Narthex, on the information table, there are packets of children who are available for sponsorship.
